Vegan Parmesan Cheese
If you are like me then you always have lots of things you would like to do, and you want to feed yourself and your family really good food that is both good for you and cruelty free. You will love this recipe. I always have a jar of vegan parmesan cheese in the fridge – cause you can put that stuff of anything! Sprinkle it on the obvious – pizza, spaghetti, tacos…how about soup, sandwiches, baked potatoes, salads, casseroles…really everything. Well except maybe your smoothie in the morning, that might be weird.
You will need a food processor for this, it might work in a blender, maybe. If you don’t have a food processor yet, check out used online listings or your local second hadn store….lots of people buy them and then never use them. If you are a vegan and cooking mostly whole foods, you will use a food processor a lot. Well worth the investment.
Besides the food processor you will need the following Four ingredients….this sounds way too easy doesn’t it!
- 1 cup of raw almonds
- 2-3 T nutritional yeast
- 1 t garlic powder
- 1/2 t sea salt or to taste
How to make your Vegan Parmesan Cheese:
- Measure out your ingredients and put them all in a food processor
- Turn on the processor and process till small crumbles, the size of parmesan
- Store in a shaker jar or regular jar and store in the fridge – you’ll probably eat it before you have to worry about whether its still good to eat.
- If you have a big family or really like parmesan cheese, just double the recipe. It won’t last long either.
- Have fun!
