Vegan in Victoria
Green Cuisine
This is a favorite spot for every vegan in Victoria! They have an awesome buffet, with so many fresh choices, something for everyone! My husband, Brent, always wants to go to the Green Cuisine. Its in the heart of down-town, in Market Square and the prices are incredibly reasonable. Its one of those places where you pay by weight, so if you choose wisely, you can get a lot of food value for a very good price.
In addition to the buffet, they have some delicious desserts, I usually stock up on a few of my favourites and take them to go.
If you are close to home or staying somewhere that you can cook, check out their Tempeh, they make it themselves and it is so tasty. I usually take some of that home too and we are fortunate enough to be able to get it at our local Thrify’s grocery store.
The Green Cuisine also has two cookbooks for sale, I own both and cook many of their recipes. Simple and nutritious food. Just what we like at our house.
Check out the Green Cuisine, simple nutritious, all vegan food, soooo good!! http://www.greencuisine.com/
be Love
Friends that we met in Mexico this winter, joined us at be Love. They are from the east coast of the USA and this was their first all vegan restaurant. They said the food was awesome and I would totally agree. Beautiful décor, excellent service and really good food! This was our first time at be Love and I am going back for sure!
My husband and I shared an appetiser, the Summer Roll, delish. Everyone had wonderful entrées, my husband and our friends all tried the lasagne and I had the Green bowl, wonderful. Our friends had never been to a vegan restaurant before and were very impressed with the food. For dessert, Brent and I shared a raw vegan cheesecake, amazing. This is a restaurant worth checking out. http://beloverestaurant.ca/
The Little Thai Place has several locations in Victoria and they have won many awards as one of the best Thai food restaurants in the city. Our hotel was close by and we decided to try out the Langford location and we are really glad we did. The food was to live for, the flavours amazing and the service spot on.
As usual, we started with the veggie wraps and shared the Massaman Curry and the Red Curry. Both entrées were so flavourful and we had enough left over to have for breakfast. Nothing like leftover Thai food for breakie!!
The Little Thai Place really is one of the best Thai restaurants in Victoria and they happily cater to vegans and vegetarians alike. http://www.littlethai.com/
Famosa Pizza
I discovered Famoso Pizza for the first time at the airport in Fort McMurray . I had been through a tough food week with very little good, nutritious or tasty vegan options. I was so hungry for something good and vegan to eat! When I got to the airport and I saw Famoso had a vegan pizza with Daiya cheese, I thought I had died and gone to heaven.
That first bite was amazing….well the other bites were pretty good too! Since then I have ordered or been to Famoso Pizza in several cities and have never been disappointed, absolutely delicious pizza!!
Last time I was in Victoria, I noticed they had one there too, awesome! Check out Famoso I bet you’ll love it! http://www.famoso.ca/menu/pizza.php
Well folks, I’ll be going back to Victoria soon and will add to the list. It is a vegan friendly city for sure. Love it!
