Raw Vegan Chocolate Mousse Pie Recipe. Oh my this is an amazing dessert if I do say so myself.
I wanted to make a pie for the holidays and got to thinking what I could do and this is the result of my efforts. This dessert is absolutely perfect! Its yummy, it’s raw, it’s gluten-free, dairy-free and in the long run, is pretty good for you too. You gotta love that!
There are three main components to the pie, the crust, the filling and the whipped topping. Each component on its own is easy to make and when you put it all together the taste is To Live For.

Raw Vegan Chocolate Mousse Pie
To create this dish you will make three layers. Starting with the crust, next the bananas and mousse centre and topped with whipped coconut cream and chocolate shavings! Let’s start with the crust.
What you will need for the crust for your Raw Vegan Chocolate Mousse Pie Recipe:
- 1.5 raw almonds
- 1.5 Medjool dates (pitted)
- ½ t sea salt
How to make the crust for your Raw Vegan Chocolate Mousse Pie Recipe:
- Remove the pits from the dates and soak your Medjool for a few minutes in warm water, drain
- Add your raw almonds to your food processor and blend till they turn into almond meal
- Add in the soaked, drained pitted dates and salt, blend till well mixed
- Spread the crust on a pie plate and press into the pan, I had enough left for
a mini pie too, place crust in the fridge to cool while you make the mousse
What you will need for the filling for your Raw Vegan Chocolate Mousse Pie:
- 3 just-ripe avocados
- 3/4 c cacao powder or coco powder
- 3/4 c coconut milk
- 3/4 c coconut sugar
- 1.5 t vanilla
- Bananas 2-3 (organic if possible)
How to make the filling for your Raw Vegan Chocolate Mousse Pie:
This mousse filling is amazing and can be a dessert on its own. Super easy to make and delicious to eat.
- Add all the ingredients except the bananas into the food processor and blend till creamy smooth
- Remove the crust from the fridge
- Cut the bananas into bite size rounds and place a layer on top of the crust
- Cover the bananas with the chocolate mousse and place in fridge till ready to serve
Prepare you whipped coconut topping for serving
Whipped Coconut Topping
What you need for the whipped topping for your Raw Vegan Chocolate Mousse Pie:
- One can full fat coconut milk
- 1 t vanilla
- 2 T brown sugar
- 2 T maple syrup
- Dark chocolate for grating on top of each serving
How to make the whipped coconut topping for your Raw Vegan Chocolate Mousse Pie:
- Place the coconut milk in the freezer for a few hours
- Cut both ends off the can and pour the coconut water into a cup to enjoy, push the coconut milk solids into a bowl for whipping
- Whip the coconut milk solids until smooth
- Add in the sugar, maple syrup and vanilla to the whipped cream and mix till well blended.
- Cut the pie and add the topping to each serving, shave some dark chocolate on each piece
Enjoy and try not to eat the whole pie in one sitting. Its that good!
