I’ve been fortunate to be married to a wonderful man for 30 years. Brent McLellan has been my partner and friend and we have experienced the ups and downs of life together. Lucky me – Brent is also a wonderful cook from free style vegan cakes, to delicious stir fry and more. Every morning rain or shine he makes us a beautiful smoothie! This one is a Ginger Berry Smoothie.
Ginger Berry Smoothie
The smoothies really are a great opportunity to be creative, there are no rules, anything goes! Below is an example of a recent smoothie we had….filled with flavour and nutrition. After our smoothie we may supplement our breakfast with cereals made with Chia, oatmeal and much more. Stay tuned for a post on these treasures.

For this amazing smoothie….Brent used the following….
Banana (organic if possible)
Kale (fresh from the garden)
Apple
Frozen blueberries (adding some frozen fruit will make it a bit colder. If you don’t have any frozen fruit you can add four or five ice cubes.
2 cups of Almond Milk (you can use any type of milk)
Ginger (a couple teaspoons of grated ginger)
Method

Really all you have to do is put all your veggies, fruit, milk, ice if needed and blend till smooth. We like the high speed blender and you can use a regular blender too! When we were in Mexico this winter, we used a regular blender and really took advantage of all of the delicious fresh fruit Mexico had to offer.
Ginger Berry Smoothie – What a wonderful way to start your day!
