Creamy Cashew Pasta Sauce – a winner!
I love creamy cashew pasta sauce!!! So easy to make and you can mix up your dish with different toppings such as olives, mushrooms and baked tomatoes!
Every time I see vegan pasta, I want some!
I love pasta and I especially love pasta sauce that is vegan and creamy. This sauce is the bomb! Super easy to make and so delicious, going to make a batch today!
The real test is when non vegans like it too and this is a winner in that area.
You’ll only need a few ingredients and a blender…..
Creamy Cashew Pasta Sauce
This sauce is so easy to make and so delicious! Let’s make some!
All you’ll need is for your Creamy Cashew Pasta Sauce:
- 1 c cashews (soaked, rinsed and drained)
Raw cashews soaking for the sauce. Remember to rinse and drain well. - 1 small onion (sauteed in a little olive oil)
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 T Sriracha sauce
Man I love this sauce! I lick it right off the spoon, its that good! - 1 t lemon juice
- 1 t Bragg Soy Seasoning
- 2 T Nutritional yeast
- 1.5 to 2 c almond milk
How to make your Creamy Cashew Pasta Sauce:
- Chop and saute your onion in a bit of oil
- Soak cashews for 4 hours, rinse and drain
- Throw everything in a blender
- Blend till super smooth…add more almond
Throw all the ingredients in your blender and add enough almond milk to mix. This is a double batch. milk as needed
- You want a medium thick sauce, thicker than milk, not as thick as pancake batter
- Add salt and pepper to taste
- Set aside
- Cook your pasta, drain
Pasta of your choice cooking. My pasta ready for the sauce. You can heat your sauce up after you blend and then pour on. Or you can drain your pasta and pour the sauce into the pot and heat it up. Either way works. - Add the sauce to the cooked pasta and heat a bit more
- Serve immediately with a salad or all by itself
Another way to serve. I added this sauce right to the drained pasta…the sauce will thicken up a bit more. Then I topped with sauteed Portobello mushrooms. Perfection! Many ways to use the sauce. You could use gluten free pasta too!
Enjoy!
